Senior Travelling Superintendent - Healthcare & Pharma
A nationally recognized construction firm is seeking a travelling General Superintendent to lead the field execution of large-scale healthcare construction projects across the United States. While candidates can be based in Texas, this is a travelling role that will require living near project sites for the duration of each assignment. Current and upcoming projects are located in Tennessee, Georgia, and Kansas City, with future assignments potentially supporting projects in other major markets. This position is ideal for an experienced field leader who enjoys being onsite, managing large teams, and delivering complex projects from preconstruction through turnover.
Healthcare experience is preferred; however, individuals with backgrounds in pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial, advanced manufacturing, mission critical, or other highly technical construction sectors will also be considered. The successful candidate will provide overall field leadership, drive project execution, mentor project teams, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall field leadership for large-scale healthcare and technically complex construction projects.
- Lead and mentor Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, trade partners, and field personnel.
- Develop project execution strategies, site logistics plans, and construction schedules.
- Foster a culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Partner closely with project management teams, owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Oversee manpower planning, site coordination, commissioning activities, and project sequencing.
- Proactively identify project risks and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
- Support the development of field leadership teams and drive best practices across projects.
Desired Background
- Significant experience leading large-scale construction projects in a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or General Superintendent capacity.
- Strong healthcare construction experience preferred, including hospitals, medical campuses, acute care facilities, or other occupied healthcare environments.
- Candidates with backgrounds in pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial, advanced manufacturing, mission critical, or other highly technical construction sectors are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated success managing large field teams and coordinating multiple trades on complex projects.
- Strong understanding of scheduling, site logistics, safety, quality control, commissioning, and project delivery.
