Summary

In this field-focused role, you will provide surveying support for heavy civil and infrastructure construction projects. Responsibilities include performing layout and staking activities, verifying project dimensions, collecting field data, and supporting construction teams to ensure work is completed according to project plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform construction layout and staking for various site features, including foundations, utilities, structures, grading, and other project elements.

* Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control necessary for construction activities.

* Conduct topographic surveys, cross-sections, and existing conditions documentation.

* Collect, process, and organize field data for as-built documentation and project records.

* Verify dimensions, elevations, and locations to ensure compliance with project plans and design requirements.

* Maintain accurate field notes, survey records, and documentation of field activities.

* Coordinate with project teams to support construction schedules and field operations.

* Operate, maintain, and safeguard surveying equipment and technology.

* Perform calculations, plan reviews, and quality checks to ensure data accuracy.

* Assist with additional surveying and project support tasks as needed.

Desired Qualifications

* 2+ years of surveying experience, preferably within construction, infrastructure, transportation, or heavy civil projects.

* Experience using GPS/GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, data collectors, and related field technology.

* Ability to interpret engineering plans, construction drawings, and specifications.

* Familiarity with CAD software, digital plan review tools, and standard office applications is preferred.

* Understanding of survey calculations, coordinate geometry, and construction layout principles.

* Exposure to machine control technology is a plus.

* Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

* Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
