The Tennessee Director of Highway Engineering will be responsible for:
- Leading the growth, strategic direction, and overall performance of the firm's Tennessee transportation and highway engineering practice.
- Serving as the primary client-facing leader for TDOT and other transportation agencies throughout Tennessee.
- Managing the delivery of highway, roadway, and transportation infrastructure projects while ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, expanding existing client relationships, and supporting proposal and capture efforts.
- Recruiting, mentoring, and developing transportation engineering staff as the Tennessee team continues to grow.
- Collaborating with executive leadership and regional transportation teams to execute the firm's long-term Tennessee expansion strategy.
- Maintaining technical excellence and ensuring compliance with TDOT standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
The Tennessee Director of Highway Engineering should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Tennessee PE preferred or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
- 15+ years of progressive highway, roadway, or transportation engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of TDOT policies, procedures, project delivery methods, and design standards.
- Proven success managing large-scale transportation infrastructure projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated business development experience with an existing network of transportation industry contacts in Tennessee.
- Strong leadership, communication, client management, and team-building skills.
