A growing heavy civil contractor in Central Texas is seeking a skilled Assistant Superintendent to support several large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects around the Lake Travis region. These active projects include water treatment plant construction, wastewater treatment plant upgrades, and major facility expansion work.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to help deliver critical infrastructure that supports regional growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent with daily field oversight on water/wastewater treatment plant construction and expansion projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, crews, equipment, and materials to maintain workflow and schedule progress.
  • Monitor jobsite safety conditions and help enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and plans to ensure correct installation and compliance with project requirements.
  • Support daily reporting, including production tracking, work logs, and documentation of site activities.
  • Work closely with project management to communicate field conditions, potential risks, and upcoming needs.
  • Assist with quality control checks to ensure work meets project standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Help manage inspections, testing activities, and coordination with owners, engineers, and regulatory entities.
  • Contribute to problem-solving and field-level adjustments to keep the project moving efficiently.

Qualifications

  • 2-5+ years of experience in heavy civil, water/wastewater, or utility construction (treatment plant experience highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, and process piping construction methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven ability to support field operations in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proactive, hands-on work style.
  • Basic proficiency in construction technology platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work full-time onsite around Lake Travis.
