Associate Architect
Associate Architect (10+ Years Experience)
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Architect to join a collaborative and design-driven team based in Boston. This individual will play a key leadership role in the design, management, and execution of projects across a diverse portfolio, while contributing to the firm's growth through client engagement and business development.
The ideal candidate brings a strong architectural background, excels in Revit, and has demonstrated success leading project teams across multiple market sectors including Multifamily, Hospitality, Affordable Housing, and Workforce Housing. Experience in Education or other institutional sectors is a plus, while single-family experience should be complementary rather than a primary focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural projects from concept through construction across a range of scales and typologies
- Oversee and mentor internal project teams, fostering collaboration and design excellence
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Produce and review high-quality design documentation, including construction drawings and Revit models
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and accessibility standards
- Participate in client presentations and maintain strong client relationships
- Support and contribute to business development efforts, including proposals, networking, and pursuit strategies
- Provide leadership within the studio, contributing to culture, process improvement, and design direction
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture required
- Licensed Architect or actively working toward licensure required
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in architecture
- Strong experience in Multifamily, Hospitality, Affordable Housing, and/or Workforce Housing projects
- Additional experience in Education or institutional work is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage teams through all phases of design and construction
- Advanced proficiency in Revit required
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods
- Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards
- Excellent design, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
