Building Science Project Manager, Toronto, ON

This role focuses on the design, evaluation, and enhancement of building envelope systems across a range of project types, including new construction, renovations, and restorations. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise and a passion for high-performance, sustainable design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage enclosure-related projects in collaboration with internal teams
- Support senior staff with technical analysis and project coordination
- Evaluate building envelope performance, including air, water, thermal, and vapour control
- Conduct building performance assessments
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop integrated enclosure solutions
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client-facing presentations
- Conduct field investigations and testing (travel required)
- Draft repair and design documentation, including construction drawings and specifications
- Observe construction activities and perform quality assurance reviews
- Research applicable codes, standards, and emerging technologies
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building enclosure design or consulting
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.)
- Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field with a focus on building science or historic preservation
- Additional certifications will be a bonus
- Strong understanding of building science principles and enclosure systems, including walls, roofing, and waterproofing
- Experience with performance modelling and sustainable design strategies
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Expertise in drafting and modelling tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and Grasshopper
- Familiarity with performance simulation tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working at heights and on suspended scaffolding
