Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Engineer to play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong technical foundation who is looking to take on greater project responsibility, work directly with clients and project managers, and mentor junior engineering staff.

The Project Engineer will lead design efforts, prepare technical analyses, coordinate project deliverables, and contribute to the successful execution of projects from concept through completion. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to continue developing both technical and leadership skills within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations, technical analyses, reports, plans, and specifications for a variety of civil engineering projects.
• Lead design tasks and coordinate project deliverables under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.
• Utilize Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop design solutions and construction documents.
• Apply engineering principles, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to project designs.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, agencies, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review project documents for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Support project managers with technical execution, scope management, and client communication.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Proactively identify challenges and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Maintain compliance with company standards, safety policies, and professional engineering practices.
• Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to the growth of the engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 4+ years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE license or active pursuit of licensure preferred.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and other engineering design software.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles, standards, and permitting processes.
• Experience preparing construction plans, technical reports, and engineering calculations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience working directly with clients, contractors, or public agencies is a plus.
