Civil Superintendent - Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Seattle, WA
Salary: $135,000- $175,000 + Bonus(s)

A well-regarded general contractor in the Seattle area is seeking a seasoned Civil Superintendent to oversee field operations for heavy civil construction projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in managing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring safe, efficient job site execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily field operations for heavy civil projects including earthwork, utilities, concrete, and structural work.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and inspectors.
  • Monitor progress and proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5-10 years of field supervision experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Proven success managing public works, infrastructure, or utility projects.
  • Strong understanding of site logistics, equipment coordination, and crew management.
  • Experience working with local agencies and inspectors in the Seattle area (preferred).

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or college coursework in construction (preferred).
  • Proficiency with field reporting tools and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites throughout the region.
