Environmental Manager - Integrated Due Diligence (M&A)

Compensation: $85,000-$120,000+
Travel: Up to 25%

A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Manager - Integrated Due Diligence to support and expand its growing transaction advisory and M&A consulting practice.

This role is ideal for an experienced environmental consultant with a strong background in Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental liability evaluation, and M&A due diligence who enjoys working directly with corporate clients, private equity groups, legal teams, lenders, and transaction stakeholders.

The successful candidate will play a key role advising clients through acquisitions, divestitures, portfolio evaluations, and post-transaction integration efforts while managing complex, multi-site due diligence programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental due diligence projects supporting mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures

• Manage Phase I ESAs, Phase II investigations, environmental liability assessments, and compliance reviews

• Evaluate environmental risks associated with industrial, commercial, and corporate transactions

• Advise clients on contamination risks, regulatory liabilities, PFAS concerns, and operational environmental issues

• Support post-acquisition integration planning and corrective action initiatives

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across multiple projects and transaction timelines

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and deal stakeholders

• Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables

• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of the due diligence practice

• Support business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline

• 10-15 years of environmental consulting experience

• 5-10 years of M&A or environmental due diligence experience

• Strong experience conducting and managing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments

• Understanding of environmental liabilities, risk assessment, and transaction advisory services

• Experience managing complex, multi-site due diligence projects

• Ability to communicate effectively with executives, investors, attorneys, consultants, and transaction teams

• Strong project management, proposal writing, and technical reporting skills

• Experience working with private equity firms, investment groups, lenders, or corporate transaction teams is highly desirable

• Knowledge of PFAS, remediation, EHS compliance, and environmental risk management is a plus
