What You'll Be Responsible For
Practice Leadership & Growth
- Lead and grow a nationally recognized Water Services practice.
- Develop and execute strategic growth initiatives.
- Expand market presence across key sectors including healthcare, commercial real estate, higher education, government, and institutional facilities.
- Partner with executive leadership to establish short and long-term business objectives.
- Help define the future direction of the practice and service offerings.
Business Development
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders.
- Identify new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Lead major pursuits, proposals, and client presentations.
- Drive organic growth through existing client relationships and cross-selling opportunities.
- Mentor technical staff on client engagement and business development activities.
- Work collaboratively with leadership and sales teams to achieve revenue goals.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technical professionals.
- Support recruiting efforts and succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Build future leaders within the organization.
- Drive employee engagement, professional development, and retention.
Financial & Operational Management
- Assume responsibility for practice performance, growth, profitability, and operational success.
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor utilization, revenue, margins, and key business metrics.
- Support resource planning and staffing strategies.
- Ensure operational processes support scalable and sustainable growth.
Technical Leadership
- Serve as a trusted technical resource and industry leader.
- Provide strategic oversight on complex projects and client challenges.
- Maintain awareness of emerging regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Support technical excellence across the practice.
- Evaluate technical capabilities and identify areas for growth and succession planning.
Ideal Background

Successful candidates will likely bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Legionella management and control
- Building water systems
- Water quality consulting
- Industrial hygiene
- Environmental health
- Infection prevention and control
- Healthcare consulting
- Environmental health and safety (EHS)
- Public health-related consulting services
Qualifications
Required
- 15+ years of professional experience in water quality, industrial hygiene, environmental health, healthcare consulting, infection control, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and developing staff.
- Experience managing large client relationships and growing business.
- Strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead through influence and collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Health, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
Preferred
- Experience leading a practice, business unit, office, or service line.
- P&L, budgeting, forecasting, or operational management experience.
- Experience supporting healthcare, institutional, commercial, or government clients.
- CIH, CSP, MPH, PE, CHMM, or similar professional credentials.
- Graduate degree (MPH, MS, MBA, or related discipline).
