Job Description
- Leading Highway Design & Analysis: The Senior Highway Department Manager will be responsible for the design and analysis of a variety of highway projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. The firm's projects often require innovative and sustainable solutions to meet complex challenges.
- Managing Projects: The manager will manage multiple highway projects simultaneously, overseeing the development of project schedules, budgets, and timelines while ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained. This role will also involve direct coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Mentoring & Developing Talent: As a senior member of the team, the manager will mentor junior engineers and help foster a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. The firm values professional development and encourages a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.
- Building Client Relationships: The Senior Highway Department Manager will work closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations exceeded. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in highway design and transportation engineering, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from concept to completion.
- Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey State (or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with highway design and analysis software, including SAP2000, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering tools.
- Leadership & Mentorship: A demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
