HVAC Controls Project Engineer
Role Summary
We are looking for a 3+ years HVAC Controls Engineer to join a growing specialist controls contractor operating nationwide. This role has been created to increase delivery capacity due to a strong and expanding project pipeline. You will take ownership of controls projects from initial design through to commissioning and handover, with a clear pathway into future management responsibility.

Role Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC controls projects from cradle to grave, from early design through commissioning and close-out
- Act as the technical lead on assigned projects, coordinating controls scope, schedules and deliverables
- Work primarily with Niagara-based Building Automation systems
- Support system architecture, points lists, sequences of operation and overall controls strategy
- Oversee installation progress and provide technical guidance to field teams and subcontractors
- Lead commissioning activities and ensure systems are delivered to specification
- Interface directly with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders
- Support project documentation, testing and handover processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement as the team scales, with future leadership opportunities
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience working in HVAC controls or Building Automation systems
- Background with a controls contractor or systems integrator
- Hands-on experience delivering BAS projects end to end
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in parallel
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
Additional or Desirable Experience
- Niagara system experience (N4/AX)
- Experience on education, commercial or healthcare projects
- Familiarity with CAD software is helpful but not required
- Interest in progressing into a project leadership or management role over time
Systems and Technologies
- Niagara-based Building Automation systems
- Standard HVAC controls protocols and field devices
- CAD tools (desirable, not essential)
Location, Travel and Working Pattern
- Fully remote working model
- Limited travel to project sites as required (<10%)
