K-12 Senior Project Manager

A nationally recognized architecture firm with decades of experience in educational facility design is expanding its K-12 portfolio and is hiring a Senior Project Manager to join its teams in San Francisco and Sacramento.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage project teams to deliver complete, high-quality document sets across all phases of design and construction.
  • Serve as the primary leader for project execution, ensuring alignment with client expectations, contractual obligations, and company standards.
  • Support Client Executive and Principal Architect in high-level decision-making and delegation.
  • Oversee all phases of development: Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Establish and maintain project budgets, schedules, and work plans; proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track.
  • Organize and direct architectural and engineering teams for efficient, coordinated delivery.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and strategic guidance; lead presentations and progress meetings.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise for detailing, specifications, and design intent throughout documentation.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering growth and accountability within the team.
  • Perform construction administration duties, occasional travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required; CA licensure preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in architectural project management, with demonstrated leadership on complex projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and permitting processes
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Competitive salary range: $110,900 - $166,395 annually, commensurate with experience.
