Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients. Maintain a strong public presence within the targeted client base by actively participating in relevant civil, professional, and industry organizations.
- Build, grow, and lead a dedicated engineering team, including mentoring staff and driving strategic growth of the division.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of private and municipal projects and operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures.
- Assist in preparing and approving proposals and qualification statements, and support plan production as needed.
- Projects may include commercial, residential, multi-family, industrial, K-12, mixed-use developments, rezoning due diligence, public facilities, and other site development or utility projects.
- Support managers with workforce planning, monthly billing, and final review of reports and maps.
- Lead the division to achieve targeted profitability and growth objectives.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
- Experience in business development and maintaining relationships with both public and private sector clients.
- 10+ years of progressive experience and leadership in private land development and/or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to effectively engage with team members, clients, regulatory authorities, public officials, and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multidisciplinary environment.
- Solid understanding of risk management and loss prevention practices.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, procedures, and project management practices.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record according to company policy.
