Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients. Maintain a strong public presence within the targeted client base by actively participating in relevant civil, professional, and industry organizations.
  • Build, grow, and lead a dedicated engineering team, including mentoring staff and driving strategic growth of the division.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of private and municipal projects and operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures.
  • Assist in preparing and approving proposals and qualification statements, and support plan production as needed.
  • Projects may include commercial, residential, multi-family, industrial, K-12, mixed-use developments, rezoning due diligence, public facilities, and other site development or utility projects.
  • Support managers with workforce planning, monthly billing, and final review of reports and maps.
  • Lead the division to achieve targeted profitability and growth objectives.

Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
  • Experience in business development and maintaining relationships with both public and private sector clients.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience and leadership in private land development and/or municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills to effectively engage with team members, clients, regulatory authorities, public officials, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Solid understanding of risk management and loss prevention practices.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, procedures, and project management practices.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record according to company policy.
