What You'll Be Doing
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the lead engineer for electrical system design and coordination
- Oversee the development and review of:
- Low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems
- Generator and UPS systems
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Fire alarm and life safety systems
- Grounding and bonding systems
- Perform and oversee:
- Short circuit studies
- Coordination studies
- Arc flash analyses
- Load calculations
- Cable ampacity and fault current studies
- Review and produce one-line diagrams, specifications, equipment schedules, floor plans, and Revit/BIM deliverables
- Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, and constructability requirements
Team & Project Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback
- Manage project priorities, schedules, budgets, and quality objectives
- Conduct QA/QC reviews and uphold engineering best practices
- Assist with resource planning and workload forecasting
Client & Project Coordination
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for clients and project stakeholders
- Lead design meetings and communicate complex technical concepts effectively
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary design and construction teams
- Support proposals, scope development, and preconstruction efforts
Construction Support
- Conduct site visits and field investigations
- Review submittals and respond to RFIs
- Support commissioning, startup, and project closeout activities
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- PE License preferred
- 7+ years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, mission critical, or complex building projects
- Data center experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and multidisciplinary projects
- Strong knowledge of:
- NEC
- NFPA
- IBC
- IECC
- Local electrical codes
- Proficiency with:
- Revit
- AutoCAD
- SKM, ETAP, or similar power system analysis software
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
