MEP Manager - Data Center Construction

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Travel / Relocation Required)
Salary: $190,000 - $230,000 + Per Diem + Bonus Structure

A leading US general contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to support the delivery of large‑scale, ground‑up data center construction projects across North Carolina and the surrounding region. This is a senior, high‑visibility role on some of the most complex and high‑value mission‑critical projects in the country.

The Role

As MEP Manager, you will take full ownership of all MEP systems delivery from preconstruction through commissioning, working closely with project leadership, trade partners, and client representatives. You will play a critical role in ensuring performance, schedule, budget, and quality targets are achieved on projects valued in excess of $500M.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all MEP scope on large‑scale, ground‑up data center builds
  • Oversee electrical, mechanical, and plumbing coordination, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agents to ensure seamless delivery
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Design Teams
  • Drive compliance with safety, quality, and commissioning standards
  • Support troubleshooting, system validation, and turnover to operations
  • Maintain schedule integrity and budget control across complex MEP packages

Requirements

  • 5+ years of MEP construction experience specifically within data centers
  • Proven experience delivering ground‑up data center projects
  • Strong MEP and Electrical background, ideally from a GC or leading mission‑critical contractor
  • Experience working on projects valued at $500M+
  • Willingness to travel or relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina
  • Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills
