A growing environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Scientist / Geologist to join its environmental services team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and environmental compliance projects for public and private sector clients throughout the Midwest.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated environmental professional who enjoys a combination of field work, project coordination, technical reporting, and client interaction.
Responsibilities
Support and manage Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
Conduct environmental investigations involving soil, groundwater, vapor intrusion, and other environmental media
Develop work plans, sampling plans, and health and safety plans
Oversee drilling activities, monitoring well installations, and environmental sampling programs
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, laboratories, and field contractors
Prepare soil boring logs, cross-sections, site maps, well diagrams, and technical exhibits
Assist with remediation projects, corrective action programs, and regulatory compliance initiatives
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution
Prepare technical reports, environmental assessments, and regulatory documentation
Support project managers with client communications and project coordination
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related field
3-8+ years of environmental consulting experience
Experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs, site investigation, remediation, or environmental compliance programs
Strong technical writing and report preparation skills
Experience managing field activities and subcontractors
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent verbal communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
