Power Engineer/System Operator
This company is seeking a Power Engineer / System Operator to support real-time monitoring and dispatch of power generation assets and controllable load resources across the United States. This position plays a critical role in ensuring reliable system operations, coordinating with generation facilities and grid operators, and maintaining compliance with market and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and coordinate the real-time dispatch of generation and load resources across multiple power markets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO market rules and operational procedures.
- Interface with power plant personnel, transmission operators, and regional transmission organizations.
- Collaborate with Real-Time Traders and Asset Managers to evaluate generation positions and market opportunities.
- Utilize operational tools, databases, spreadsheets, and real-time monitoring systems to support grid operations.
- Make timely operational decisions in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working with power system operations, generation dispatch, energy markets, control room operations, or system operations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, databases, spreadsheets, and real-time operational applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
