Project Engineer - Large-Scale Commercial Construction - Chicago
A well-established and highly reputable general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Chicago team. This role offers the chance to work on complex, high-value commercial projects and grow within an organization known for excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale commercial construction projects.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, and subcontractor coordination.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and consultants to maintain design intent and quality standards.
- Support scheduling, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to resolving field issues and ensuring timely project delivery.
Experience Needed
- 2-4 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally on projects exceeding $10M.
- Hands-on experience with project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with complex MEP systems and high-end finishes is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented and proactive in problem-solving.
