Role Overview

As a Project Manager within the Civil Site Development team, you will lead projects from concept through completion, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while overseeing technical design, project delivery, budgets, schedules, and team coordination.

This position offers the opportunity to manage a wide variety of land development projects while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the strategic growth of the Columbus operation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage civil site development projects throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, profitability, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Guide permitting and regulatory approval processes with local and state agencies.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Identify opportunities for additional work with existing clients and support business development initiatives.
  • Participate in proposals, presentations, and client meetings.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations.

Education & Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering and land development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of site development design principles, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with municipal agencies and permitting authorities.

Preferred

  • 8+ years of relevant consulting engineering experience.
  • Proven experience leading project teams and mentoring staff.
  • Business development or client management experience.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D and related design software.
  • Experience across commercial, industrial, residential, or mixed-use developments.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary

$80,000 - $140,000 annually

Salary will be commensurate with experience, project management expertise, technical capabilities, and licensure.
