Location: Sydney or Melbourne

We are working with a leading project delivery consultancy seeking a Scheduler to join their growing Australian team. This role offers the opportunity to work across complex, large-scale construction projects, providing critical planning, scheduling, reporting, and programme management support. The successful candidate can be located in either Sydney or Melbourne.

The Opportunity

As a Scheduler, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining integrated project schedules across multiple projects. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure programmes are accurate, achievable, and aligned with project objectives. This position offers exposure to both live construction projects and pre-construction tender planning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the schedule using either Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
  • Provide detailed support and assistance to the construction team, including interacting with contractors to determine actual progress and proposed construction plans and methodology.
  • Prepare delay analysis reports internally and to external clients when required.
  • Propose schedule recovery strategies and delay mitigation measures.
  • Produce schedules, reports, extracts, filtered schedules, short term schedules.
  • Communicate with vendors to determine up to lead in periods and delivery dates.
  • Introduce improvements and innovations where appropriate.

Key Experience:

  • Experience scheduling large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies and project delivery processes.
  • Ability to interpret construction programmes, design information, and project documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with contractors, consultants, and clients.\
  • Experience identifying delays, analysing programme impacts, and developing recovery plans.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong attention to detail.

Preferred Background

  • Construction, Engineering, Project Management, or related degree qualification.
  • Experience working on large and complex construction projects.
  • Advanced training and practical experience in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Site-based project experience in a supervisory, management, planning, or project controls capacity.
