Our client, a leading architecture and design firm with a growing presence in the healthcare sector, is actively seeking a Project Architect to join their dynamic Healthcare Studio in New York City. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to play a key role in shaping innovative healthcare environments that meet the evolving needs of patients, providers, and communities.

As a Senior Project Architect, you will be instrumental in conducting detailed surveys of existing healthcare facilities and contributing to comprehensive code research, particularly focusing on the New York State Building Code and the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) standards for both hospital and outpatient settings. Your expertise will help ensure that all design solutions are not only creative and functional but also fully compliant with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough field surveys and assessments of existing healthcare environments to inform design strategies and renovation plans.
  • Perform in-depth research and analysis of applicable codes and guidelines, including NYS Building Code and FGI requirements, to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the development and coordination of architectural drawing sets from schematic design through construction documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external consultants to produce well-integrated, high-quality design solutions.
  • Coordinate architectural documentation with engineering and specialty consultants to ensure a cohesive and constructible set of drawings.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining a high level of organization and meeting critical deadlines.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the design and documentation phases.
  • Contribute to the mentorship and development of junior staff within the studio.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in healthcare architecture, with a strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare facility requirements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is essential; familiarity with other design and visualization tools is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and technical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team, as well as independently when needed.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project challenges.

Additional Information:

  • Position Type: Full-Time
  • Location: New York, NY (Hybrid work model)
  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
