Senior Structural Engineer
The Opportunity
A well-established, employee-led multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to add a Structural Engineer to its growing buildings team.
This is an opportunity to move beyond repetitive project work and contribute to larger, more technically challenging structures across healthcare, aviation, higher education, commercial, science and technology, sports, and government sectors.
You will work alongside structural, mechanical, electrical, technology, sustainability, and commissioning professionals throughout the design process. This collaborative environment provides exposure to the full project lifecycle while supporting your development as both a technical engineer and future project leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyse structural systems for complex building projects
- Produce calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents
- Coordinate structural designs with architects, contractors, and internal engineering disciplines
- Support projects from early concept and design development through construction administration
- Participate in site visits, field observations, and project meetings
- Develop practical solutions to complex technical and construction challenges
- Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
- Take on increasing responsibility for project delivery, coordination, and mentoring as you progress
Project Exposure
You may work on projects including:
- Major healthcare campuses and hospital expansions
- University and higher education facilities
- Airports and transportation-related buildings
- Large commercial and mixed-use developments
- Sports and recreation facilities
- Science, technology, and mission-critical facilities
- Complex government and institutional buildings
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's and Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer licence preferred, or a clear pathway towards licensure
- Experience designing building structures using materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, or timber
- Working knowledge of relevant structural design codes and industry standards
- Experience with structural analysis and design software
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team
- Interest in developing both technical and project leadership capabilities
