Structural Engineer
About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their multidisciplinary firm that delivers projects across residential, commercial, multifamily, industrial, institutional, and modular market sectors. In this role, you will support and lead structural design efforts from concept through construction, collaborating closely with architects, civil engineers, MEP teams, contractors, and owners. You will help drive quality, innovation, and constructability on a wide variety of building types while working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for building systems using steel, wood, concrete, and/or masonry.
- Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with internal architecture, civil, and MEP teams, as well as external project partners.
- Conduct site visits, assessments, RFI/submittal reviews, and support construction administration.
- Apply and interpret building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, NDS, TMS).
- Delegate tasks to junior staff and provide mentorship and quality oversight.
- Manage multiple deadlines while delivering organized, high‑quality work.
What You Need to Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required; Master's preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of full‑time building structural design experience.
- P.E. license preferred (or ability to obtain).
- Experience thriving in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Strong ability to work independently and contribute within a broader team.
- Technical depth in at least one structural material and one building market type.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills.
- Creative problem‑solver with solid critical‑thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active or transferable Idaho P.E.
- Proficiency with structural analysis tools (RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, etc.)
- Experience working in REVIT and AutoCAD environments.
- Background in seismic/wind design, renovations, or modular building systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients.
