Our client is seeking an experienced Water Treatment Technical Lead to join their team in Virginia. This hybrid role offers flexibility and can be based out of Fairfax, Richmond, or Virginia Beach. It's an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead innovative water and wastewater treatment projects that support sustainable infrastructure development across the region.
About the Role
As Water Treatment Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the technical direction and quality of water and wastewater treatment projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and work closely with clients to develop innovative solutions that meet regulatory and operational requirements. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects and contribute to the advancement of treatment technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects
- Provide subject matter expertise in conventional and advanced treatment processes
- Oversee the preparation of engineering reports, technical memoranda, and design documentation
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop tailored, cost-effective solutions
- Support proposal development and contribute to business development efforts
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence across the team
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and technical workshops
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment design and engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong understanding of treatment technologies, hydraulics, and process engineering
- Proven ability to deliver successful infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
- Experience with pilot testing, process modeling, and emerging treatment technologies
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and hydraulic modeling tools
- Experience in design-build or alternative delivery methods
