Position Title: Assistant Project Manager - Real Estate
Location: Hybrid (Columbus, OH) or Remote within a designated service location
A well-established infrastructure organization is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support real estate and right of way activities for capital development projects. This role is essential in coordinating land acquisition efforts and ensuring collaboration across engineering, planning, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support coordination and oversight of real estate and right of way activities for infrastructure development projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to facilitate the planning and maintenance of physical assets.
- Assist in managing external consultants and land agents involved in property acquisition, survey permissions, and environmental reviews.
- Participate in site selection and routing for new facilities, including stakeholder engagement and public outreach.
- Review and contribute to legal documents, maps, plats, and agreements related to land leases, purchases, and easements.
- Evaluate property values, assist with legal processes in condemnation cases, and manage damage claim settlements.
- Ensure compliance with federal inventory record requirements and review third-party encroachment requests.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure financial alignment.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, planning, and project management teams.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Business, Real Estate, Engineering, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in right of way acquisition, land appraisal, surveying, environmental siting, or related disciplines-ideally within the infrastructure or utility sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and external partners.
- Strong understanding of legal documentation related to land use (e.g., easements, deeds, leases).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with property owners and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and GIS tools.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
