About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Landscape Architect with 8-15 years of professional experience to join our growing team in Raleigh. This is an opportunity to take on a leadership role in design, project management, client engagement, and mentorship while contributing to a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead landscape architecture projects from concept through construction documentation and implementation
  • Develop site plans, planting designs, grading plans, and detailed construction documents
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and consultant coordination
  • Present design concepts to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
  • Oversee the preparation of graphics, renderings, and technical exhibits
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal design and permitting standards
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including planners, civil engineers, architects, and environmental specialists
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal quality standards
  • Support business development through proposal writing, client relationships, and participation in interviews

Qualifications

  • Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license required; NC license or ability to obtain via reciprocity
  • 8-15 years of relevant experience in landscape architecture, planning, or site design
  • Strong proficiency in design and technical software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or GIS
  • Experience in site development, streetscapes, parks and recreation, campus design, or urban design preferred
  • Strong graphic, presentation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading teams
  • Ability to balance design creativity with technical accuracy and constructability
  • Familiarity with North Carolina codes, zoning, and environmental regulations (preferred)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with municipalities, DOTs, or institutional clients
  • Knowledge of sustainable design strategies, low‑impact development (LID), and green infrastructure
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships
  • Experience preparing construction documents and overseeing construction administration
  • LEED, SITES, or related certification a plus
