Are you an experienced engineering professional passionate about delivering impactful water and wastewater infrastructure projects? We are looking for a Practice Development Leader to join a dynamic team focused on design excellence, project delivery, and technical leadership across municipal water and wastewater initiatives in Raleigh, North Carolina.
In this role, you'll lead the execution of a variety of complex water/wastewater projects, working closely with engineers and project teams to develop innovative solutions and meet client needs. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of vital infrastructure, including water distribution, wastewater collection, treatment facilities, and stormwater management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive project development: Manage the coordination of engineering disciplines and contribute to the creation of project deliverables in a collaborative, team-driven environment.
Tackle complex challenges: Conduct technical and economic feasibility assessments, evaluating alternative solutions for municipal water and wastewater clients, and recommending the most beneficial approach.
Oversee project execution: Manage a variety of water/wastewater pipeline and facility projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Achieve outstanding results: Lead the execution of diverse projects, including sewage collection, water transmission and treatment, infrastructure assessments, and stormwater management solutions.
Mentor and develop talent: Guide and support junior engineers, encouraging their professional growth and helping to build high-performing project teams.
Maintain client relationships: Engage with clients, government agencies, and subconsultants to successfully deliver water and wastewater projects while ensuring client satisfaction.
Drive business growth: Cultivate new project opportunities by networking with municipal clients, utilities, and agencies. Collaborate with firm leadership on marketing initiatives and business development strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) registration.
10+ years of relevant experience in consulting engineering within the municipal water/wastewater industry, including project delivery and business development.
Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with municipal and private engineering clients.
Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to civil engineering challenges.
Proficient communication skills (both written and verbal).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, AutoCAD
