Renewables Geotechnical Engineering Manager
Our client, a leading engineering firm in the power and renewables space, is looking to bring on a Geotechnical Project Manager to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in the execution and delivery of large-scale projects across renewable energy, substations, transmission, and battery storage. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical acumen, proven project leadership experience, and a passion for mentoring junior engineers.
This role will oversee end-to-end geotechnical investigations and designs-from field testing and analysis to report delivery and construction support. You'll also have the chance to shape and guide the next generation of geotechnical engineers through hands-on training and project mentorship, working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop proposals and budgets for geotechnical investigations and design services
Lead field investigations, coordinate lab testing, and perform detailed geotechnical analyses (bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, etc.)
Prepare and review technical reports and client deliverables
Mentor and supervise junior team members, promoting a culture of technical excellence and growth
Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to manage project timelines, quality, and communication
What They're Looking For:
Bachelor's in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's a plus); PE required
5+ years of geotechnical experience-preferably with exposure to power and renewables
Strong command of geotechnical field and lab procedures, analysis, and reporting
Experience leading projects and mentoring staff
Proficiency in software such as gINT, GeoStudio, LPile, MFAD is a plus
Willingness to travel and support fieldwork when needed
Excellent technical writing and client communication skills
