A well-established and growing engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead its Site Engineering Department in the Charlotte office. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on delivering innovative land development solutions across a variety of sectors including commercial, industrial, healthcare, senior living, residential, and higher education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Charlotte-based site engineering team.
- Oversee all phases of land development projects-from concept through construction.
- Manage the production of construction drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, and construction services (e.g., submitting reviews, RFI's, inspections).
- Ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Champion best practices, quality control, and cross-discipline coordination.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, including repeat business.
- Support business development and proposal efforts.
- Handle administrative duties such as staff scheduling, billing, and project reporting.
- Serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects.
- Regional travel as needed.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in land development design.
- Strong familiarity with the Charlotte/Mecklenburg County market (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Active PE license (Professional Engineer).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage clients, projects, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Hydrology Studio.
- Experience with Newforma and EPANet 2.2 is a plus.
