About the Opportunity
A well-established and highly respected fire protection contractor is seeking a Senior Lead Fire Protection Designer or Engineer to join its growing Denver-area team. This individual will play a key role in leading the design and coordination of fire sprinkler systems for a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, institutional, and specialty projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fire protection professional who enjoys technical leadership, project ownership, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality life safety solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and layout of fire sprinkler systems for a variety of building types and project scales.
- Develop construction documents, installation drawings, hydraulic calculations, and supporting design packages.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Interpret building codes, fire codes, and applicable industry standards to ensure compliance.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to project stakeholders.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentor and provide oversight to junior designers and engineering staff.
- Participate in client meetings and serve as a technical resource throughout the design and construction process.
- Assist with resolving field issues and supporting installation teams as needed.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in fire sprinkler system design, fire protection engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of fire protection principles, life safety systems, and industry standards.
- Experience preparing sprinkler system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and construction documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with industry-standard fire protection design software and drafting platforms.
- Experience leading projects and mentoring team members is highly preferred.
