Service Technician - Building Automation Systems (Client Opportunity)
We are supporting a leading building automation organization in their search for a Service Technician to deliver high-quality maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization services across client sites. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong DDC and HVAC expertise who enjoys working independently while maintaining close client interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Service & Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance on building automation systems, including database backups, system diagnostics, and performance analysis
- Conduct network optimization and evaluate central equipment control performance
- Execute service-based project work in line with customer requirements
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Diagnose and resolve issues across DDC control and HVAC systems
- Replace and commission failed components as needed
- Support system startups, programming, and fine-tuning of controls
System Analysis & Optimization
- Assess building control performance and recommend improvements
- Ensure systems operate efficiently and according to design intent
Client Engagement & Coordination
- Act as a key liaison between clients, internal teams, and installers
- Maintain consistent communication with supervisors, coordinators, account managers, and customers
- Deliver customer training and provide ongoing technical support
Operational Responsibilities
- Participate in an on-call schedule as required
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all service activities
Candidate Profile
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and DDC control theory
- Experience programming and supporting platforms such as Alerton, Distech, or Tridium
- Solid understanding of electronics and basic electrical circuits
- Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities
- Proficiency with computer hardware and software systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Associate degree in applied technology (preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in HVAC and/or mechanical systems
- Background in programming and controls systems
- Demonstrated troubleshooting experience
