Position: Business Development Manager - EPC (Solar & Storage)
My Client is seeking a strategic and driven Business Development Manager to support growth in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction sector, with a focus on turnkey solar PV and hybrid solar-plus-storage projects. This role will be instrumental in identifying and securing opportunities across utility-scale, commercial & industrial, and distributed generation markets.
Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Development
- Identify and prioritize EPC opportunities across North America in the solar and storage sectors.
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies targeting IPPs, developers, and large energy users.
Client Engagement & Sales
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including developers, utilities, C&I clients, and public agencies.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and RFP response to contract negotiation and close.
- Leverage industry network to generate and convert leads into EPC contracts.
Proposal & Technical Coordination
- Lead proposal development and presentations in collaboration with estimating, engineering, and project teams.
- Ensure proposals are accurately scoped, competitively priced, and risk-mitigated.
- Support internal process development for bidding and project pursuit.
Partnership & Pipeline Management
- Collaborate with procurement to build partnerships with vendors, subcontractors, and financial partners.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline aligned with quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Industry Engagement
- Monitor regulatory and market developments to inform strategy.
- Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
- 4-6 years of experience in solar EPC or utility-scale solar business development.
- Proven track record of securing EPC contracts.
- Strong understanding of solar PV design, permitting, interconnection, and construction.
- Familiarity with storage integration, PPAs, and incentive programs.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
