Commissioning Manager (Water/Wastewater)
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Construction Water Treatment Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activities for new and upgraded water and wastewater treatment facilities in Corona, California. This critical role ensures that all systems and equipment installed during construction transition seamlessly into safe, reliable, and fully operational infrastructure.
The ideal candidate brings strong field construction experience, deep knowledge of treatment processes, and excellent coordination abilities across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all commissioning and startup activities for water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects.
- Develop commissioning plans, testing procedures, system turnover packages, and schedules.
- Oversee field verification, equipment testing, functional performance testing, and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate closely with construction teams, design engineers, operators, and equipment vendors.
- Ensure all systems meet design intent, regulatory requirements, performance expectations, and safety standards.
- Manage documentation, progress reporting, punch lists, and final acceptance testing.
- Provide training to operations staff and support seamless transition from construction to long-term plant operations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commissioning experience in water or wastewater treatment facility construction.
- Strong understanding of treatment plant processes, mechanical/electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.
- Hands-on field construction background with proven ability to manage startup and commissioning phases.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, O&M manuals, and control system documentation.
- Experience working in design‑build or EPC project environments is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field preferred.
