Senior BAS Field Engineer
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Building Automation Field Engineer to join our dynamic team in Nashville. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in Direct Digital Controls (DDC), HVAC systems, and integrated building automation platforms. You'll lead commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization efforts across commercial and mission-critical facilities-including data centers, hospitals, and high-performance buildings.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of building automation systems (BAS/DDC), including HVAC, lighting, and energy management controls.
Program and integrate systems using platforms such as Siemens Desigo, Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell EBI, or Johnson Controls Metasys.
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on control systems and field devices.
Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Conduct site surveys and develop technical scopes for retrofit and upgrade projects.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and training.
Maintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings, sequences of operation, and commissioning reports.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and client specifications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of hands-on experience with BAS/DDC systems in field engineering roles.
Proficiency in programming and configuring one or more major BAS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, Johnson Controls).
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical schematics, and networking protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally within the Nashville region.
Preferred Skills
Experience in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centers, healthcare).
Certifications such as Niagara AX/N4, Tridium, or LEED accreditation.
Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for building systems.
