Vice President- Land Development
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Vice President of Land Development to lead our land development division. This executive-level role is responsible for strategic oversight, operational leadership, and business development within the land development sector of our civil engineering firm. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering complex development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the land development division, aligning with company goals and market opportunities.
- Oversee all phases of land development projects, including feasibility studies, site planning, design, permitting, and construction support.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Drive business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to inform strategic planning.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to support cross-functional initiatives and company-wide growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
- 15+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development.
- 7+ years in a senior leadership or executive role.
- Extensive experience managing large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects.
- Strong understanding of zoning, permitting, environmental regulations, and municipal processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive business growth.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with both public and private sector clients.
- Familiarity with sustainable development practices and LEED certification.
- Proficiency in engineering and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Project).
