Audiovisual Programmer (Tampa, Florida)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV Programmer with deep expertise in Crestron systems to join our dynamic AV integration team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, configuring, and commissioning integrated audio-visual control systems in commercial, educational, or residential environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge of AV components, control protocols, and the ability to develop reliable, user-friendly interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, program, test, and troubleshoot Crestron control systems using Crestron SIMPL/SIMPL+, Crestron Studio, and/or Crestron Home.
Develop custom modules and user interfaces for touch panels and mobile devices.
Collaborate with project managers, system designers, engineers, and technicians to deliver AV solutions on time and within budget.
Participate in site visits for system commissioning, testing, and client handover.
Maintain and document code, system configurations, and programming standards.
Provide remote or on-site technical support for deployed AV systems.
Ensure all programming aligns with project specifications, functional scope, and user experience goals.
Qualifications:
Required:
Proven experience programming Crestron control systems (3+ years preferred).
Proficiency with Crestron Toolbox, SIMPL/SIMPL+, and VT Pro-e or HTML5 UI design tools.
Strong understanding of AV signal flow, networking (TCP/IP), and control protocols (RS-232, IR, IP).
Ability to read and interpret AV system schematics and wiring diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
Crestron Certifications (e.g., CTI-P101, CTI-P201, Crestron Certified Programmer).
Experience with other control systems such as AMX, Extron, or QSC is a plus.
Familiarity with DSP programming (Biamp, Q-SYS, BSS) and video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams).
Knowledge of network configuration and infrastructure as it relates to AV systems.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and stay current with emerging AV and control technologies.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
May require travel to job sites for system commissioning and client support.
Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs occasionally and work in varied physical environments (e.g., ceilings, equipment racks).
Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required during installations or support emergencies.
