Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned environmental professional to lead and manage the Environmental Services Department. This senior-level role involves a blend of technical oversight, business development, team leadership, and client relationship management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in environmental consulting, a passion for mentoring staff, and the strategic mindset to drive departmental growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Manage and mentor a team of environmental professionals, including performance reviews and career development planning.
- Conduct and review environmental assessments, including Phase I ESAs, and field sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor.
- Lead surveys for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP).
- Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with leadership to set departmental goals and manage budgets.
- Drive business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional registration as a P.E. (Professional Engineer) or P.G. (Professional Geologist) is required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental consulting and project management.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client management skills.
- Most work is local to the Upper Midwest region, with minimal travel required.
