Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 + Bonus
Position Summary
My client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Energy Power Marketer to lead our CAISO market initiatives and national retail customer portfolio. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with deep expertise in Congestion Revenue Rights (CRRs), CAISO market operations, and large-scale retail energy account management across PJM, ERCOT, and ISONE.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute power marketing strategies within CAISO, with a focus on Market Operations, CRR acquisition, optimization, and congestion risk mitigation.
- Manage and grow relationships with large commercial and industrial retail customers, delivering tailored energy solutions and ensuring high customer satisfaction across all RTO/ISO markets in the U.S. and Canada.
- Monitor CAISO market trends, regulatory developments, and transmission dynamics to identify trading opportunities and manage risk.
- Lead CRR auction participation and manage CRR portfolios to maximize financial performance and hedge congestion exposure.
- Collaborate with internal teams including trading, operations, and compliance to ensure seamless execution of marketing strategies.
- Support contract structuring, pricing, and negotiation for retail and wholesale transactions.
- Represent my client in industry forums and regulatory discussions as needed.
- Lead the California natural gas marketing efforts, including the development and execution of marketing strategies to enhance their market presence. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in power marketing, with at least 3 years in CAISO markets and CRR management.
- Proven track record managing large retail energy accounts and delivering customer-centric solutions across PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, and ISONE.
- Experience in California natural gas markets including knowledge of NYMEX and basis trading, gas nominations, and managing a portfolio of customer accounts.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in energy trading platforms, market analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
