QC Manager (Heavy Civil Construction)
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for leading and coordinating quality assurance efforts across multiple construction projects. The position involves managing quality control personnel, ensuring compliance with internal standards and client specifications, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the organization's quality management system.
Key Responsibilities:
-Supervise and support quality control staff across active projects.
-Oversee third-party testing agencies and material inspections.
-Ensure subcontractor work aligns with project specifications and industry standards.
-Coordinate inspection schedules and testing requirements with project teams.
-Identify and address non-compliant work through corrective action plans.
-Maintain and review quality documentation and inspection records.
-Conduct internal and external audits to ensure adherence to quality protocols.
-Participate in project meetings, including pre-activity and progress reviews.
-Develop and update quality control checklists and documentation tools.
-Evaluate and select qualified inspection and testing firms.
-Draft scopes of work for quality-related subcontractor and vendor agreements.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction quality control, inspection, or operations.
-Strong knowledge of building, transportation, and public infrastructure standards.
-Familiarity with federal and local quality assurance regulations.
-Relevant certifications in QA/QC or inspection are preferred.
-Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
-Ability to assess work quality based on technical specifications and standards.
-Proficient in using productivity software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing).
-Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
