Senior Mechanical Estimator - Ohio

Position Summary

A confidential, well-established construction firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep experience in multi-trade estimating, particularly in HVAC and plumbing scopes. You'll be responsible for leading complex estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates
  • Lead estimates for multi-trade projects valued at $5M and above
  • Collaborate with project managers, safety, purchasing, and leadership to ensure bid accuracy
  • Evaluate historical data, labor rates, and material costs to inform pricing
  • Identify and quantify potential risks and uncertainties in cost models
  • Support change order pricing and revisions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Mentor and support junior estimators (Estimator I & II levels)
  • Maintain and update cost databases and estimation tools
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of experience in mechanical or multi-trade construction estimating
  • Proven success estimating projects $5M+, with preference for experience on $25M+ bids
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, Accubid, and other estimating software
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and technical documents
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Experience in union and multi-trade environments is highly valued
  • Data Center expeirence is highly valued
  • Degree, diploma, or trade certification in a related field (or equivalent experience)
