Tennessee Operations Director
Our client is a national, multidisciplinary engineering firm seeking a Tennessee Operations Director to provide leadership and oversight across a well-established regional business.
With an existing project portfolio and strong relationships across public-sector clients, this role is focused on maintaining operational excellence, supporting team performance, and partnering with senior leadership to drive long-term growth and strategy.
This is a senior leadership position centered on operations, collaboration, and performance rather than heavy business development, offering direct visibility with executive leadership and meaningful influence over regional direction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead overall operations across Tennessee, with collaboration across adjacent markets
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key public-sector and municipal clients
- Partner closely with senior leadership on strategy, performance, and growth initiatives
- Drive operational efficiency across project delivery, QA/QC standards, and team performance
- Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, utilization, and profitability
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and growth planning for technical and project teams
- Collaborate across offices to ensure alignment, resource optimization, and consistent delivery standards
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience within civil engineering, transportation, or infrastructure
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proven leadership experience managing operations, teams, and financial performance
- Strong background working with public-sector or municipal clients
- Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level
- Experience overseeing QA/QC processes, budgets, and performance metrics
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and clients
