Texas Director - Engineering, Planning & Landscape Architecture
A well-established, multi-disciplinary consulting firm with over 35 years of success and continued growth is seeking a strategic, growth-oriented professional to lead its Community Infrastructure Business Unit in Texas.
Position Overview
The Texas Director will oversee managers and teams across engineering, planning, and landscape architecture disciplines, with an initial focus on expanding services in the Central Texas region (San Antonio). This role offers the opportunity to drive growth initiatives across the state and shape the future of land development services.
As a senior leader, you will guide strategy, market expansion, team development, and operational excellence within the Community Infrastructure Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and administrative oversight to engineering, planning, and landscape architecture teams across Texas.
- Business Development: Cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients. Maintain a strong presence in professional organizations and industry events.
- Operational Oversight: Manage service lines and project delivery for both private and public/municipal clients, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
- Strategic Growth: Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including municipalities and decision-makers, to position the firm for new opportunities.
- Proposal Leadership: Lead and support the preparation of proposals and qualifications for a wide range of projects, including public sector, education, parks and recreation, residential, mixed-use, and entitlement work.
- Financial & Workforce Management: Support workforce planning, billing, and quality assurance across Texas offices.
- Regional Management: Drive profitability and growth for the Central Texas region within the Community Infrastructure Business Unit.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Landscape Architect (PLA), or Certified Planner in Texas.
- 20+ years of progressive experience in land development and/or municipal/public projects.
- Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of risk management and project delivery standards.
- Expertise in civil engineering, planning, and landscape architecture principles.
- Excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities.
- Must pass a background check, drug screening, and meet driving record requirements.
