Accounting & Finance Manager in Renewable Energy Industry

Position Overview

The Accounting & Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial records, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of reliable financial information to support business decision-making.
This role covers Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Tax Compliance, Corporate Treasury, and Financial Reporting, and works closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers.


Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Prepare and submit payment requests for approval in line with the organization's approval matrix.
  • Monitor and coordinate payment requests from all departments via the electronic approval system.
  • Record supplier invoices, accruals, and bank transactions in the accounting system.
  • Download bank statements and perform weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Record monthly accrual entries.
  • Prepare and maintain payment vouchers.
  • Execute payments via cheque and bank transfer, ensuring approvals from authorized signatories.
  • Distribute payments to suppliers and confirm completion.
  • Follow up on supporting documents including receipts, tax invoices, withholding tax certificates, purchase orders, agreements, and duty stamps; ensure documents are scanned, saved, and organized weekly.
  • Maintain well-organized payment records and supporting documentation on SharePoint.
  • Coordinate with outsourced tax and accounting service providers.

Accounts Receivable

  • Issue intercompany invoices on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices (e.g., utility or service-related billing) monthly.
  • Submit required vendor forms to customers.
  • Liaise with customers on invoice submission processes and agreed payment cycles.
  • Prepare and submit accounts receivable and invoice tracking reports to management.
  • Follow up with customers on overdue or outstanding invoices.

Month-End Closing

  • Prepare monthly financial close activities in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Submit timely and accurate monthly accounts to shareholders and key stakeholders.

General Ledger

  • Prepare reconciliation schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Review monthly and annual financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, including depreciation schedules and component accounting.
  • Support senior finance leadership in the preparation of consolidated audited financial statements and monthly management reports.

Tax Compliance

  • Liaise with tax advisors to ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory tax filings.
  • Coordinate VAT refund processes with external tax consultants.
  • Prepare and maintain tax reconciliation schedules.
  • Track, follow up, and organize all monthly and annual tax submission documents on SharePoint.

Reporting & Budgeting

  • Prepare SG&A reports by function, compare against budget, and support variance monitoring.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Maintain detailed records for O&M costs, insurance, asset management fees, and development fees.
  • Update and maintain shareholder loan balances and interest calculations on a monthly basis.
  • Update and maintain bank loan balances and interest calculations on a monthly basis.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports as required.

Audit

  • Ensure a smooth and well-coordinated audit process.
  • Act as a key point of contact and cooperate fully with external auditors.

Corporate Treasury

  • Open and maintain bank accounts.
  • Oversee payment execution and cash management activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners and relationship managers.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all financial and statutory documents are properly stored and maintained in accordance with compliance policies on SharePoint.

This position require high level of Japanese skill.
