Assistant Project Manager

Company Overview

We are currently partnered with a national MEP contractor that specializes in delivering large-scale mechanical, electrical and piping systems for commercial, industrial, mission-critical, and healthcare facilities. With a strong reputation for excellence and innovation and backed by a robust pipeline of work - they are seeking a motivated Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support their growing project portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Support the development of project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Track project progress, document changes, and assist in preparing RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Participate in job site meetings and assist with field coordination and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Help manage project costs and assist in forecasting and reporting.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration across all project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in mechanical construction or a related/relevant field
  • Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems in commercial, mission-critical, healthcare, or industrial settings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to local job sites as needed.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic project team.
