BAS Sales Engineer

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced BAS Sales professional to join a well-established building automation integrator serving the Greater Hartford, Connecticut area. This role combines technical sales, client engagement, and solution development across HVAC controls and building automation systems.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with building owners, contractors, and consulting engineers
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Greater Hartford region
  • Prepare and present tailored BAS and HVAC controls solutions
  • Interpret project specifications, drawings, and sequences of operation
  • Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to execution
  • Manage proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and contribute to forecasting activities
  • Represent the organisation in meetings, site visits, and industry events
  • Provide technical insight and guidance to clients throughout the sales cycle
Required Experience and Skills (Must-Have)
  • 5+ years of BAS or HVAC controls sales experience
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems and HVAC controls
  • Proven ability to develop and close technical sales opportunities
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to explain complex systems in a clear and practical way
  • Previous hands-on or technical background in HVAC controls or building automation
  • Willingness to travel locally and meet clients across the Greater Hartford area
Additional or Desirable Experience (Nice-to-Have)
  • Experience working within plan and specification environments
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency, optimisation, or retrofit projects
  • Existing network within the Connecticut HVAC or controls market
  • Exposure to service agreements or lifecycle solutions
Systems and Technologies
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS / BMS)
  • DDC controls
  • Platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or Honeywell
  • Open protocols including BACnet and Modbus
Location, Travel, and Working Pattern
Based in or around Greater Hartford, Connecticut. This role involves regular local travel to client sites, alongside a hybrid working arrangement.
Compensation and Benefits
A competitive overall package is on offer, including a guaranteed commission structure in the first year to support onboarding and pipeline development, alongside longer-term earning potential aligned to performance.
