A respected architecture and consulting firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Building Envelope Consultant with 3-5 years of experience to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending technical expertise with hands-on fieldwork, particularly in the realm of façade inspection and restoration.

You'll be working on a variety of projects across the five boroughs, with a strong focus on FISP/Local Law 11 compliance. The position offers a balance of site inspections, forensic analysis, and collaborative design development-perfect for someone who thrives in both the field and the studio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site inspections of building façades in accordance with FISP/LL11

  • Document findings and prepare reports for DOB submissions

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop repair strategies

  • Monitor remediation work to ensure compliance with design and safety standards

  • Analyze envelope systems including masonry, curtain walls, waterproofing, and roofing

  • Stay current with NYC building codes and DOB regulations

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in building envelope consulting

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with FISP/LL11 projects

  • Comfortable conducting field inspections, including scaffold drops and roof access

  • Strong understanding of façade systems and deterioration mechanisms

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office; Revit is a plus

  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field (PE or RA license a plus but not required)

  • Based in NYC or able to commute regularly to job sites
