Location: Manhattan, NY (All work within the 5 Boroughs)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Salary: $80,000-$115,000 (commensurate with experience)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced NYC Certified Asbestos Investigator (CAI) to support asbestos inspection and regulatory work throughout New York City. This is a full-time, onsite role focused exclusively within the five boroughs, with a strong emphasis on ACP-5 filings and NYC compliance.
Requirements (Must-Have)
- Active NYC Certified Asbestos Investigator (CAI) license (required)
- Extensive experience conducting asbestos investigations in NYC buildings
- Strong background preparing and signing off on ACP-5 filings
- Working knowledge of NYC DEP Asbestos Control Program regulations
- Ability to manage fieldwork, documentation, and compliance reporting independently
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Preferred (Not Required)
- Additional certifications or licenses such as:
- Asbestos Inspector / Management Planner
- Mold Assessor
- Lead Inspector / Risk Assessor
- Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
- Previous experience working across residential, commercial, and institutional properties in NYC
Responsibilities
- Conduct asbestos investigations across the five boroughs
- Prepare, review, and sign ACP-5 filings
- Perform inspections, sampling coordination, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with all NYC, state, and federal regulations
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients on project timelines and requirements
