Job Summary

The firm is seeking a Civil Project Manager to support and lead design, permitting, and client coordination efforts for a diverse portfolio of land development projects in the Chicago market. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with technical experts and leadership while managing day-to-day project execution and contributing to client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and permitting of residential, institutional, commercial, warehouse/distribution, and mixed-use developments for public and private sector clients;
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams;
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, assisting with project communication and delivery;
  • Lead site/civil design tasks including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion and sediment control from concept through construction;
  • Prepare and oversee stormwater management designs, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, and SWPPP documentation;
  • Coordinate with geotechnical, environmental, and other technical disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery;
  • Assist with business development initiatives, including proposal preparation and participation in client meetings; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
  • 7-12 years of relevant site/civil engineering experience with a focus on land development projects of varying size and complexity;
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license;
  • Demonstrated experience in site/civil design including grading, drainage, utilities, and permitting;
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D preferred;
  • Experience coordinating multiple tasks and deadlines in a project management environment;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience with technical reports and proposal support;
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting; and
  • Reliable transportation for site visits and client meetings, with a valid driver's license.

For jurisdictions requiring pay transparency, the estimated salary range for this role is $100,000-$130,000, with actual compensation determined by experience, skills, education, certifications, and market factors.
