About the Role

We are seeking a visionary Commercial Director to lead and grow our operations in Malaysia. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a passion for sustainability, innovation, and customer success. The successful candidate will oversee sales, service, and marketing functions, driving business growth across municipal, industrial, and environmental sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute commercial strategies aligned with regional and global objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team across sales, service, and support functions.
  • Expand market presence through strategic partnerships, customer engagement, and targeted campaigns.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience through tailored solutions and long-term relationship building.
  • Own the P&L for Malaysia, ensuring profitability, cost control, and sustainable growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Uphold ethical standards and ensure adherence to local regulations and corporate policies.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial leadership roles, preferably in water quality, analytical instrumentation, or industrial solutions.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing complex sales cycles.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Experience in managing a P&L and international reporting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Malaysian market and regulatory landscape.
  • Willingness to travel regionally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Business.
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization or within a multinational environment.
  • Familiarity with digital sales tools, CRM systems, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Exposure to sustainability-driven projects or ESG initiatives.
